Pyronale - the magnificent art of fireworks

For the 5th time, the Pyronale presents the international elite of firework artists who line up for the firework world championship. The first weekend in September, artists from all over the world pull out all the stops to convince the jury from trade and celebrity as well as the audience.
On the 3rd and 4th September, the firework shows which are the most brilliant in technical terms and splendiferous as well as imaginative in regard to predetermined guidelines will be elected and prized on the final on the 4th.
This year, six teams from Switzerland, Slovakia, Italy, Greece, South
Korea and for the first time Germany, chosen from a pool of applications of the top league in the sector, will combat for the treasured trophies with all it takes to impress.
The Pyrotechnicians will come up with sparking ideas, fanciful creations, breathtaking effects, grand play of colors and light and elaborated choreographies to complicate the decision making for jury and audience.

What would you give to meet your favourite star and stand right next to them? Berlin’s new attraction Mme. Tussauds will even give you the opportunity to get a picture with your idol. So don’t forget your camera!
Since its opening on July 5th, 2008, visitors have been fascinated by the 75 wax celebrities. A walkway featuring stars of feature films is followed by another section featuring political and historical figures. There is also an interactive part with sport celebrities such as Oliver Kahn and Henry Maske.
The celebs range from Morgan Freeman to the Beatles and from Angela Merkel to John F. Kennedy. Visitors are also able to move the wax works.
